Renaissance Festival Review

Well today I am not here to tell you about a movie that I just recently viewed but to a place that I recently visited. This place was the Renaissance Festival in Planterville Texas just outside of Navasota. Before going I would advice some research on the Renaissance Festival because this place can be weird to someone who does not understand what this festival is all about. For example, all of the workers here talk like they are from 300 years ago and the reason for this is just to set the scene for what they are trying to accomplish with this venue that takes place every year. It also is a very fun place to attend that has many things you can do from ax throwing to a petting zoo, but make sure you bring plenty of money because somethings at the festival are expensive. When someone at the concession stands ask for two pounds understand that is the money form that was used back then and they are not asking for two pounds from your body weight. You see many costumes as well, corsets and corvettes (not the car) is what you will see, I actually even saw someone dressed as The Joker but I am not sure that the Joker made to many cameo appearances hundreds of years ago but you get the idea, dress up if you like and be a knight of whatever you please. They actually have professional actors that are paid to to shows at the festival too, its pretty cool. By far my favorite part was the food, funnel cakes, sausage on a stick, chicken on a stick and turkey legs gives anyone who loves food a watery mouth. Also there are many little stores selling things from the Renaissance period but once again its expensive stuff for the most part. It really is a great experience that I have attended for the past three years and it really has not gotten old to me and actually it gets better because you know exactly where to go to find new food or anything really. I recommend everyone go atleast once in their life. Two thumbs up
