Pineapple Express Review
"Pineapple Express" was a movie filled with dumb comedy that still came across as a very humorous flick. This is a film about a process server named Dale Denton, played by Seth Rogan ("Superbad" & "Observe and Report"), who buys marijuana from Saul, played by James Franco. Later on Dale witnesses a crooked cop, played by Rosie Perez, with a drug lord named Ted Jones, played by Gary Cole, murder an asian guy who was in another drug organization. He drives away before the cop sees who witnessed it but they find something that Dale leaves behind and leads it back to him and Saul. So the whole movie they are trying to run and hide from two thugs sent to kill them but as they try to get away they get deeper and deeper in the situation until a drug war starts just because of them. The movie is very entertaining as Seth Rogan and James Franco compliment eachother's comedy very well. The movie keeps you laughing throughout the whole movie pretty much. Seth Rogen played his role well and did a great job with the dialog as well in the movie but if you would compare it to "Super Bad" then it is not even close to the same level. There were a few scenes in the movie that could have been left out and may have been dragged out a bit too much like the part when the woman cop and Ted Jones were talking to the Asian leader and getting into a fight. Ted Jones got a little too carried away with being the bad guy and the role didn't seem very believable. Overall the movie was successful in being entertaining and keeping the audience laughing throughout. We give it a 4 out of 5.
